It is hard to believe it but we are now about 24 hours from departure. These last few months have gone by incredibly fast and I am having a really hard time grasping the fact that we are finally here. I am a bit terrified, beyond excited, and incredibly antsy. I am also a bit sad as we have had to say a lot of goodbyes and I know how we are going to miss our California friends. (Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us during our going away parties!)
The last few weeks have been a bit hectic, last minute doctor and dentist appointments, packing up the apartment, getting together everything for the trip, and closing out our jobs. We had a huge garage sale last month and have been listing a lot of our bigger items on Craigslist so we are down to about two carloads of stuff, one of which we are storing with Chris’ brother. (We would be at one but Chris and I have a joint obsession with books and our collection is quite large.)
I can’t wait to be on the road. Chris finishes work tomorrow and then we are off! First stop, Flagstaff, Arizona and the Grand Canyon!
